Still under way

Four things ate their week.

A back office on email and spreadsheets. It starts with a conversation about your business and what is getting in the way. From there we agree on the first priority, what we will build or fix, and how we will know it is working.

01Before: Adding a new item to the site took all night.

One photo. Tick Promote. It’s live.

A new item goes into Airtable with one photo. Tick Promote and it is on the website. Sold items drop off the site on their own, and nothing is ever deleted.

Example screen: in the back office, Item 04’s Promote box is ticked, and on the website’s shop page Item 04 appears beside Items 01 and 02.

02Before: They had to ask someone to change a word.

Fix it yourself.

A site they edit on their own. Change a line, swap a photo, publish. No ticket.

Example screen: in the back office’s site editor the page heading is changed to New arrivals this week and published, and the website’s page shows the new heading.

03Before: Every inquiry got copied into a spreadsheet.

It files itself.

Every inquiry on the site lands in Airtable with the item it is about attached. Nothing to copy out of an inbox.

Example screen: a customer sends the website’s inquiry form asking whether Item 04 is still available, and it arrives in the back office’s inquiries as a new row with Item 04 attached.

04Before: Nobody local could find them.

Set up to be found.

Structured data on every page, a sitemap, the old links redirected, and a baseline taken at launch so they can see whether it moves.

Example screen: in the back office, a search baseline recorded at launch and three checks, structured data, old links redirected and a sitemap, each marked done; the website’s sitemap lists its pages.

2.5 hours a week15 minutes

To publish new inventory from Airtable to the website, down from 2.5 hours a week. When an item sells out, the next one goes live.

What’s getting in the way of growth?

Let’s look at what’s working, where things get stuck, and where a few changes could make the biggest difference.
